Can I access my unit during extreme weather or emergencies?
Rarely asked, but very good to know! ⛈️❄️
In most cases, self-storage facilities remain accessible during rain, snow, heat waves, or other less-than-ideal weather.
However, safety always comes first. During severe storms, flooding, ice events, or local emergencies, some facilities may temporarily lock gates or restrict access to protect tenants, staff, and property.
At Best West Boat and RV Storage, we do our best to maintain access whenever it’s safe to do so. That said, weather and emergency conditions can change quickly, and temporary closures may be necessary.
Here’s what to keep in mind:
- Gate access may be limited during severe weather or emergency situations
- Temporary closures are made for safety—not convenience
- Emergency protocols can vary depending on the situation
If you ever need access during extreme weather, your best move is to call us first. Our team can confirm:
- Whether the gates are open
- Any weather-related access restrictions
- Emergency procedures or timelines for reopening
Bottom line:
We’re here to help, but Mother Nature sometimes has the final say. When conditions are questionable, a quick call to Best West Boat and RV Storage can save you a trip—and keep everyone safe. 🌦️🚧
